What have you got out of Youth Conference?

How did it make you feel?

What do you want to share with other young people?

To see what other people have experienced, please look at what they've written.

Poem by Beth Hartley

COME ALL YOU PEOPLE, COME AND PRAISE YOUR MAKER

COME ALL YOU PEOPLE, COME AND PRAISE YOUR MAKER

COME ALL YOU PEOPLE, COME AND PRAISE YOUR MAKER

COME NOW AND WORSHIP THE LORD.

Come the unshaven and the unslept and let your hearts sit down with the Lord

Sitting here looking out at all of everyone ...people I know, people who are new to me, I feel hugely proud to be associated with you. You are here, like minded and yet allowed to wrestle out your differences.

So remember; remember how it feels to hold that struggle in your mind when you know that you understand the other person yet hold an entirely different view yourself.

Remember how it is to laugh at something silly in love; in sweet agreement; how it is to reach out and hold the hand of the person in disappointment, to hold the hurting and encourage the downhearted. You are all of this and more. You are the light at the end of someone's tunnel, the place where there is open discussion, where all are present and accepted. And even where they are not accepted by individuals, are accepted and recognised by virtue of standing and being public. Here there is admitting falling, and allowing others to fall safely; admitting love, fear, joy, anger, humour and peacefulness. All of you are made in Gods image, his hand is on every one of you...

Come you who are uncertain, undecided, have to leave early, you who worry about what people might think. You who are exasperated, meet with those who procrastinate. You who are fundamental, meet with liberal and lawmaker. You who are set, be challenged and sometimes set free. Because here we are all one thing and many things. And it means so many things we don't understand.

But we know it brings us here and we look around and all there are, are friends here. Every face is a face I would be happy to see again, every face belongs.

Come the unshaven and unslept, the uplifted and empowered, And let your hearts sit down with the Lord.
